Dear Friend:

With an intense election for New York City mayor in full swing, and non-stop chaos coming out of Washington, it might be easy to overlook one of the most important races on the ballot on June 24th – just 7* weeks away.

But the reelection of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is a critical contest that we must win. I wanted to take a minute to explain why it is so important.

Alvin is a smart, experienced, and courageous prosecutor who understands the concerns and hopes that we all share.  A man of unshakeable integrity, Alvin’s data-driven, comprehensive strategy is making Manhattan safer, with one standard of justice for all. He has:

  • Helped drive down gun violence by holding shooters accountable, cracking down on ghost guns, and investing in community-based prevention.

  • Launched a new $9-million community-based mental health initiative to reduce the number of repeat offenders by providing outreach and support services.

  • Expanded services for survivors and took on challenging cases of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking.

  • Held powerful accountable by cracking down on government corruption and prosecuting employers for stealing wages and landlords for tenant harassment.

While there is more work to do – and Alvin is never satisfied – we are starting to see results: overall crime in Manhattan is down 10% over the last two years, with bigger declines happening this year, and shootings in Manhattan are down 45% since Alvin took office.

Now is not the time to go backwards.  We must return Alvin Bragg to the Manhattan DA’s office, so we can continue the progress we've built over the past three and a half years.

I could not be more proud, enthusiastic and committed to helping Alvin get re-elected. But we need you to vote and your help to get the word out about what’s at stake in this election, and all the important achievements Alvin has secured in his first term. I thank you for your time reading this and hope it is helpful in making your decision on this important race. Remember, voting starts June 14th and Primary Day is June 24th.
